Movable Recording Arrays

At CD Neural Technologies, we believe strongly that the ability to move electrode recording arrays after implantation provides significant advantages over fixed position arrays that cannot be moved following surgery. Just a few of these advantages include: a far greater overall yield of units per implant, the ability to record from multiple depths or loci with a single implant, and the ability to precisely position the electrodes within a target structure. As such we are proud to offer state-of-the-art movable ultra-fine wire electrode arrays designed to facilitate a broad range of systems-level neuroscience experimentation.

Ultra-fine Wire Moveable Recording Arrays

The movable array shown on the left is a 1x8 array with 250 um spacing between electrodes. The microwire electrodes are fashioned from 12 um diameter tungsten wire. These ultra-fine wire electrodes provide significantly enhanced Signal-to-Noise characteristics compared with larger diameter electrodes.
